This spectacular Chevrolet Camaro 1969 displays bodywork that is nothing short of immaculate. Its transformation started with a full factory built frame and an original 1969 Camaro Rally Sport body that had never seen rust or any significant damage. Those components were shipped to Yesteryear Classic Autos in Tulsa, Oklahoma where every one of the body’s panels were aligned to better than factory fit and all of its seams were made narrow and precise.

Once the well-done body was as close to perfect as possible a smooth Dupont Chroma Premier finish, which consists of Gloss Black urethane on top of Charcoal Gray urethane, was detailed with Metallic Red pin stripes that perfectly highlight the car’s excellent lines.

And this awesome Chevrolet Camaro 1969 pro-tourer features a host of aggressive upgrades which feel so natural that they could’ve rolled out of GM’s Norwood manufacturing facility almost 43 years ago. Up front, a black stainless trimmed grille hangs a sinister red “SS” emblem between chrome trimmed Rally Sport headlights that have been painted Charcoal Gray to match the car’s angled front valence. Below that grille, a showroom quality chrome bumper tops clear round parking lights that have been converted to LED illumination.

And above that grille, a custom fabricated steel and fiberglass Stinger hood leads the eye to a like-new windshield which is cleared by modern, matte finished wiper arms and framed by bright, dent-free stainless trim. Behind that windshield pristine chrome drip rails, which were likely bought new during the car’s recent restoration, combine with a fresh set of correct chrome mirrors to perfectly complement dark tinted greenhouse glass.

And below that windshield, new stainless rocker spears combine with traditional chrome door handles, fresh chrome marker lights and bright Rally Sport fender louvers to add just the right amount of detail to the car’s solid gray profile. At the front of that profile, the car’s traditional factory emblems have been replaced by custom painted “SS” and “LS7” call-outs. And at the back of that profile, a D80 rear decklid spoiler hangs above sequential LED tail lights, a second showroom quality chrome bumper, Rally Sport exclusive chrome trimmed reverse lights and a custom painted “CYA” rear valence call-out.

Cranking out a smooth 630 horsepower, and a killer 660 lb./ft. of torque, this Camaro’s lightweight, high performance LS7 V8 is one of the last mass produced engines which lives by the ‘more cubic inches equals more horsepower’ rule. Derived from the very successful Corvette C5R racing program, it’s a hand built 7.0 liter (427 cubic inch) thoroughbred which benefits from a brand new aluminum block design that features pressed in cylinder liners to accommodate added displacement, race derived CNC ported aluminum heads that are complete with Del West titanium intake valves and sodium filled exhaust valves, a high lift camshaft, a forged steel crankshaft, forged steel main bearings, lightweight titanium connecting rods, cast aluminum hypereutectic flat top pistons and a dry sump oil pan.

A perfect amount of air and fuel is supplied by a GM electronic fuel injection system and a K&N air filter which funnels wind through a low restriction intake tube. That air and fuel mixes in a high flow GM intake manifold and progresses into the massive cylinders where it is ignited by chrome covered GM coils. Immediately following combustion, spent gases are evacuated through a slick set of Stainless Works long tube headers which roar into a three inch stainless exhaust system. Charging for that ignition is supplied by a chrome alternator which spins next to a polished AC compressor thanks to a polished Vintage Air serpentine system.

And cooling for that combustion is provided by a four core Ron Davis aluminum radiator which is complete with two electric fans and custom fabricated overflow tank. The hot engine sits between a smoothed firewall, a completely finished hood and glossy inner fenders that have all been coated with the same Charcoal Gray urethane as the car’s vertical exterior panels. And detail accents like a full set of braided hoses, a billet aluminum topper for the Optima gel cell battery and a chrome master cylinder and brake booster add just the right amount brightwork. There really is nothing more to ask for from an engine build than what you see here; the vicious small block looks spectacular, fires and idles perfectly, and accelerates like a pure-bred race car.

Open this Chevrlet Camaro 1969’s doors and you’ll find a completely custom leather interior that’s built around firm Corvette bucket seats and features a nice blend of classic style and modern convenience. At the front of the car, a body-matched John Covan dash hangs a slick set of Auto Meter American Muscle gauges next to a direct fit control panel for the car’s Vintage Air climate control system and a Kenwood CD/DVD player that’s equipped with both touch screen navigation and blue tooth connectivity.

Below that dash a custom center console, which features a combination of body-matched paint and black leather upholstery, props a modern short throw shifter between buttons for the car’s power windows and power door locks. And below that console, high quality black carpet, which is protected by color-keyed floor mats, rides on thick, sound deadening insulation. At the sides of the car, custom door panels wear traditional GM armrests and pristine chrome door handles up front, and subtle power window switches and gloss black door toppers in back. At the top of the car, a custom suede headliner is anchored by the same thick, sound deadening insulation that pads the carpet.

And behind the rear seat, which has been covered to match the Corvette buckets, large Rockford Fosgate package tray speakers hang over a four channel Rockford Fosgate amp and a custom enclosed Rockford Fosgate subwoofer. Connecting the driver to the road is a great looking polished steering wheel which spins a bowtie branded horn button around a polished tilt steering column. A small storage space in the car’s fully restored trunk provides enough room for car show essentials.
